Prophet Jonah (Israel) · −780 – −750

  1. 1. Jaffa −780 – −780

God sends him to Nineveh, the enemy's capital. He goes down to the port instead and boards a ship for Tarshish, in the opposite direction.

  2. 2. At sea −780 – −780

A great storm rises. The sailors cast lots, the lot falls on Jonah, and they throw him overboard. A great fish swallows him for three days.

  3. 3. Nineveh −779 – −778

Forty days and Nineveh will be overthrown. The whole city repents and is spared. Angry, Jonah sits under a gourd and learns about God's mercy.
