Seder Olam Rabbah is an ancient Jewish chronology text traditionally connected to Rabbi Yose ben Halafta, a major Tanna of the Mishnah period. It organizes biblical history from Creation through the Second Temple period and tries to calculate the dates of major events in the history of Israel.
It is especially important for this timeline because it became one of the foundations of traditional Jewish dating. Many later Jewish chronologies were influenced by its calculations, even when modern academic dating differs from it.
