The Battle of Mount Tabor, described in Judges 4–5, was a major Israelite victory over the Canaanite forces of King Jabin of Hazor. Under the leadership of the prophetess and judge Deborah, the Israelite commander Barak assembled 10,000 warriors from the tribes of Naphtali and Zebulun at Mount Tabor. They confronted the Canaanite army commanded by Sisera, who possessed 900 iron chariots. According to the biblical account, divine intervention enabled the Israelites to defeat Sisera’s forces near the Kishon River. Sisera fled the battlefield but was later killed by Jael, who drove a tent peg through his head. The victory ended Canaanite oppression and brought forty years of peace to Israel.
