Bukki, son of Abishua and father of Uzzi, is known only from the priestly genealogies: the high priestly line in 1 Chronicles 5:31 (6:5 in many English Bibles) and 6:36, and the ancestry of Ezra (Ezra 7:4). No event of his life is recorded. Josephus lists him, together with Phinehas, Abiezer (Abishua) and Ozi (Uzzi), among the high priests of Eleazar's line who served before the office passed to Eli (Antiquities 5.361–362).

His name links the generation of the conquest with the later priesthood of the Temple, since the same chain continues down to Zadok, the high priest of Solomon. He should not be confused with Bukki son of Jogli, the leader of the tribe of Dan named among those who were to divide the land (Numbers 34:22).
