Jael (Yael) was a biblical heroine mentioned in Judges 4–5, identified as the wife of Heber the Kenite, whose clan maintained peaceful relations with the Canaanite king Jabin.

After the Israelite forces led by Barak and the prophetess Deborah defeated the Canaanite army, its commander Sisera fled to Jael's tent seeking refuge. She welcomed him, offered him milk, and covered him. While he slept, she killed him by driving a tent peg through his head.

Her actions secured Israel's victory and were celebrated in the Song of Deborah (Judges 5:24–27), which praises her as blessed among women.
