Ham, son of Noah, came through the Flood on the ark with his family. Genesis gives no age for him, so the end of this bar is only an estimate. He saw his father uncovered in his tent and told his brothers; Noah's curse fell on Ham's son Canaan.

Genesis 10 traces from him Cush, Mizraim, Put and Canaan: the peoples of Nubia, Egypt, Libya and the land of Canaan, with Nimrod and the first kingdom in Shinar among them. The Psalms call Egypt the land of Ham.
